Wood bats are allowed, no prohibition of the club, you can play with him - if you to find one. No (default) is what is most important.
Wood bats for long. and if you break in, you can not find a replacement.
Borg tried to remember back with a wooden bat and was a disaster.
come to think, even snow disappeared (metal aluminum or steel) in the professional game.

Where were you? Your question is in a way that the impression that there just back from a coma 20 years formulated. Wood bats are allowed, but if you were playing a tournament with a bat made of wood, it would look like if you were in Iraq to fight with a sling-shot. Wood has long since disappeared. You can play with the wood, the question is: why? Of the racquet and string technology make it possible to made for the modern player with a lot of power and control.

All these people have the right to use, but wrong "not good enough." I've seen people use a lot (like) a joke and bring all opponents in a quandary. The technology of wood bats are not comfortable and modern with a club, but they are a weapon of choice if you can do it.

PS I saw a man win a tennis tournament on several platforms with a frying pan.

The same was done with bows and clubs in the battle. Only completely overtaken by modern technology. Some people play Wood Bat tournaments just for nostalgia, but it's like driving a car from old classics. You can not in a race with real.
